Derbyshire Neighbor - Rockhouse Vineyards

Today I stopped by Rockhouse Vineyards to pick up some bottles of wine for a friend. Rockhouse, one of our favorite neighbors, is located on a 200 acre farm that is only 2 and a half miles from Derbyshire. The eighteen year old vineyard is owned and operated by Lee Griffin and Marsha Cassedy.
It was a little cloudy outside, but the "rock house" which functions as their tasting room and wine-making facility looked just as cute as always.

Luckily I caught them on a workday and was able to see a little of what goes into making their wine. John was working to transfer juice from the Cabernet Sauvignon to make a Rose.
His dog, Hunter, was there to oversee the process.
I ventured into the tasting room where Lee was nice enough to
pour a glass of their Meritage for me.
Then he even let me check out the cellar downstairs.
If you are in the area, I would certainly recommend stopping by Rockhouse Vineyards and picking up a bottle of their Meritage or any of their other amazing North Carolina wines. Their tasting room is open Thursday through Sunday from 1PM-5PM. You'll definitely enjoy their hospitality, atmosphere, and, of course, their wine.
